Every few years, a technology shift changes how businesses operate. I've been early to each one — not as an observer, but as a builder. I hold a granted U.S. patent (10,021,455) for a system that uses luminaire-based optical communication to identify content and determine viewership — an early step in the thinking that led to Nourova, for which I have a patent pending (US 18/330,111) — a real-time AI system that reads biometrics and continuously adapts content based on physiological response.
Studied at Penn while the web was just becoming real. The early internet wasn't a class — it was something you figured out by doing.
Built at the intersection of search and content during the first wave. Learned what it meant to build for scale before "scale" was a buzzword.
Was building video infrastructure while YouTube was still figuring out what it was. Understood distribution before distribution was the business.
Built content networks and e-commerce operations at the moment when online commerce shifted from experiment to expectation. Moved merchandise, built audiences, ran operations.
Built Rebates.com into a $500K/month paid marketing operation. Learned what it means to run profitable customer acquisition at scale — every dollar measured, every channel optimized.
Built Quantum Exchange, a quantum computer-resistant blockchain protocol. Designed and deployed algorithmic trading systems for digital assets. Developed Web3 applications for the art market. All three failed. Each one taught me more about building at the frontier than any success could have.
